The National Service Scheme is a system where students who have completed various tertiary institutions are posted to government and private institutions both in the urban and rural areas to offer their services for the development of the country. The 2017/18 national service personnel were posted to the various government ministries, agencies and departments in September 2017.
The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) have, in line with the scheme, received a new batch of National Service Personnel who will be working with the institution for a period of one year.

The service personnel at GAFCSC will have the opportunity to learn and interact with military officers and civilian employees about the daily activities of the College. This opportunity will afford the service personnel who have an interest in joining the military to be able to understand the military environment and how it operates.
At the end of the service period, service personnel would have had the exposure and experience of working in an academic institution and military setting.
