MATRICULATION CEREMONY FOR WEEKEND MDIP STUDENTS BATCH 4

A matriculation ceremony has been held for the 4th batch of the Weekend Master of Science in Defense and International Politics (MDIP). The 2018/19 programme is made up of 53 students and will run from February 2018 to August 2019.

Addressing the matriculants, the Commandant of the College, Rear Admiral Seth Amoama indicated that he was pleased to have the 4th MDIP Weekend course matriculate and urged the matriculants to be diligent, hardworking and straightforward in their studies. He told them to sacrifice their time, energy and sleep; and strive for excellence in their studies.

He further welcomed them on behalf of the College control board and wider staff community and advised them to make their stay a in the College rewarding experience.
The Class Captain of the MDIP Batch 3, Miss Portia Offeibea advised the students to be disciplined and humble in order to receive the needed knowledge duration of the course. She advised the students to be time conscious since one year wasn’t a very long enough time for the course and as such, every minute had to be taken seriously.

The Deputy Class Captain, Mrs Confidence Logo in the acceptance and expectation speech stated that it was their greatest honour and privilege as students to be part of the College and for that matter the military. She further indicated that not only were they hoping to acquire academic knowledge but that they are determined as students to imbibe the military discipline too from the College.

In a Note of Assurance, the director of Research and Development, Captain (GN) A Kamal-Deen, on behalf of the Dean of the College and the academic staff assured the students that they were in good hands and will be given the best of tuition.

The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Major General Carl Coleman past Commandant of the College. He recounted the genesis of the programme and indicated why the programme was opened to outsiders. He admonished to students to be time conscious, diligent in the studies, eschew cheating and be disciplined at all times. He encouraged them to sacrifice their time and comfort during the course so that they will achieve their goal by the end of the programme.
