A colorful handing-taking over ceremony has taken place at Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College where Rear Admiral Seth Amoama, former Commandant of handed over to Rear Admiral Moses Bieck-Baffour as the Commandant of the College. Rear Admiral Seth Amoama served two and half years as the Commandant for the College and was appointed the Chief of Navy Staff by the President and Commander – In – Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, HE Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo on 8th Jan 2019.

Activities to mark the handing-taking over ceremony included inspection of the quarter guard, briefings, conduct of the new commandant round the college, durbar with troops and civilian employees in the college and a sendoff reception for the out-going commandant.

Before his appointment as the Commandant of the College, Rear Admiral Bieck-Baffour was the Chief Of Staff at the General Headquarters Quarters. He had previously served as a Directing Staff and Chief Instructor for the Naval Faculty in the College. He also served as the Deputy Military Secretary, Military Secretary, Commander of the Eastern Naval Command and held several appointments in the Ghana Navy.

In a beautiful handing over ceremony, the college fraternity wished the CNS well in his new appointment and welcomed Rear Admiral Bieck-Baffour the new Commandant.

The former commandant is credited with rigorous infrastructural development in the College.  Among other things, Rear Admiral Amoama expanded and refurbished the dining hall which can now seat over 200 persons at a time.

Rear Admiral Bieck-Baffour becomes the 21st Commandant of the College since its establishment in 1967.

Rear Admiral Amoama saw to the reconstruction and the beautification of the college frontage, re-roofing of the Research and Development Department Block, and initiated the construction of a canteen which is about 70% complete.

The former commandant also saw to the construction of “Flame Fountain” on the lawn opposite Hamidu Hall. The entire college fraternity again wishes the out-going Commandant /CNS all the best in his new appointment and all future endeavors.
