Honourable Ebenezer Okletey TerlabiFirst of all, as potential staff officers and commanders, you must always put the interest of your nation first in whatever decision or action you take.   When we think about our country individually, the national interest can be attained collectively.  It is only the national interest that guarantees for all of us our individual interests in a sustainable manner. Secondly, as leaders in your various organizations, always seek the welfare of those placed under you and they will reciprocate by working for you diligently.   You will fail as a leader the moment you disregard the interests of your subordinates and pursue your personal interests.  Seek the development of your subordinates, share with them the knowledge you have and learn from them by listening to them.   The more knowledgeable you become, the more you will come to understand that, you are not the repository of all knowledge.
