The Kpeshie Medical Centre (KMC) is the medical center which serves all the military installations in Teshie and its environs. These installations include HQ Southern Command, Military Academy and Training Schools, 48 Engineer Regiment, Engineer Training School and Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC). It serves as the first point of call for sick soldiers, families, civilian employees and sometimes civilians in its catchment area.
The Centre has a 10-capacity bed ward and a well-equipped laboratory where medical examinations including malaria, liver function, blood count, and hepatize tests etc are carried out. The Centre has a Medical Doctor, Midwife, Ward Master, nurses, a qualified Laboratory Technician, and other supporting staff.
To assist with the storage of drugs and other medical consumables, GAFCSC donated 2 Haier Thermocool double door fridges to KMC on Wednesday 3 October 2018. The fridges were presented to the Centre on behalf of the Commandant, staff, and students of the College by Brig Gen AK Boimah.
Presenting the fridges, Brig Gen Boimah said it was obligatory for all units in the catchment area of the Centre to assist with the provision of equipment which will help the Centre provide the needed medical care to all who go there. He said it was in the light of this that the GAFCSC thought it expedient to donate the fridges to the Centre.
