GAFCSC ORGANIZES INDUCTION SERVICE FOR COMMANDANT | Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College

A spirit-filled religious service has been organized in Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) to induct Rear Admiral Moses Beick-Baffour into office as the 20th Commandant of the College. The services were attended by retired and serving generals, director general, directors and staff officers from the General Headquarters and the 3 Service Headquarters’. Also in attendance were staff and students of GAFCSC, friends and family members of the Commandant.

SOME GENERALS WHO ATTENDED THE INDUCTION SERVICE

The ceremony was officiated by the Director Religious Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Rev Capt (GN) P Adjei Djan, Rev Lt Cdr DB Quayson of the Teshie Camp Methodist Presbyterian Church and Imam Sharfudeen Abdullah Alhasn Kamany of Al Aziz Mosque in Burma Camp and the GAF Religious AffairsDirectorate; and other pastors from outside the GAF.

Preaching the sermon on the theme ‘SERVE MAN AS TO GOD’.  Imam Sharfudeen said one of God’s purpose for creating man was for man to be a social property. As a social property one should use any position he/she occupies to serve humanity since service to man is service to God.

THE CLERGY INVOKING BLESSINGS UPON THE COMMANDANT

Rev Capt (GN) P Adjei Djan on his part recounted how a young officer he encountered the Commandant at Eastern Naval Command during his continuation training. He urged the Commandant to be fair and firm to all personnel under him and build upon what his predecessor left. He stated that God had a reason for bringing him back to the College to see to the training of all the middle-level manpower for the GAF, sister security services, MMDAs, and other Sister African countries. He added that God was entrusting the future of the security of the 14 different countries on courses in the College. He indicated that serving well the College community and the GAF was service to God. He added that whoever served God well always received a just reward.

The DRA inducted the Commandant into office and the clergy who were at the service all gathered around the Commandant and committed him into the hands of God.

Giving his remarks the Commandant paid glowing tribute to all past Commandants of the College and recounted how far God has brought him in his military career. He pledged to let God lead him in all that he does in the College. He promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor and requested that personnel accord him the same support they gave to his predecessor. Some of the dignitaries who attended the service congratulated the commandant.
