A matriculation ceremony has been held for the Weekend Master of Science in Defense and International Politics (MDIP) 2021 students. The 2021 programme is made up of 45 students and will run from February 2020 to August 2021.

Addressing the matriculants, the Rector of GIMPA, Prof Bonzie-Simpson indicated that he was pleased to have the MDIP 2021 matriculate and urged the matriculants to be diligent, hardworking and straightforward in their studies. He told them to sacrifice their time, energy and sleep and strive for excellence in their studies.

He welcomed them on behalf of the College Control Board and the College community and advised them to make their stay in the College a rewarding experience. He admonished the students to be time conscious, diligent in the studies, eschew cheating and be disciplined at all times.

The Class Captain of the MDIP 2020, Lt Col Ekow Mensah-Yawson advised the students of MDIP 2021 to be disciplined and humble in order to receive the needed knowledge during the course. He advised the students to be time conscious since one year wasn’t a very long enough time for the course and as such, every minute had to be taken seriously.

In his acceptance and expectation speech, the Class Captain stated that it was their greatest honor and privilege as students to be part of the College and the military. He stated that the students were hoping to acquire academic knowledge and were also determined to imbibe the military discipline too from the College.

The Director of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso presented the matriculants and administered the matriculation oath.
