The Jospong Group of Companies held a five-day leadership conference at Hamidu Hall of the Ghana Armed Forces Command Staff College for its workers. The conference which commenced on Monday 18 January and ended on Friday 22 January had participants in other countries following virtually. In his opening remarks, the Commandant GAFCSC, Rear Admiral Moses Beick-Baffour, said he was happy the conference was held at the College and stressed that the gesture would reinforce the relationship between the two institutions. The Executive Chairman of Jospong, Dr. Joseph Siaw Oppong, said the annual conference was usually held at Gomoa in the Central Region involving about 2000 participants. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to hold it at the college where foreign participants could follow the conference virtually.
At the end of the conference, the Executive Chairman thanked the Commandant in particular and the Ghana Armed Forces in general for giving him the opportunity to use the premises for its 2021 leadership conference. It was his desire that all that had been learned would be used to benefit society. The Commandant pledged that the College would collaborate with Jospong to make its proposed Jospong Academy, which was discussed at the conference, a reality. He was thankful for the major role played by Jospong in managing waste in the country, providing employment, and helping curb the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The Commandant conferred on the Executive Chairman a candidate for leadership studies at the College for the year 2021.
