The new Defence Attaché (DA) to the Zambia High Commission in Ghana, Colonel Derek Mbolela Mwendaofyo, on Tuesday 30 November 2021, paid a courtesy call on the Commandant of Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Rear Admiral Moses Beick-Baffour. In his welcome message, the Commandant briefed the DA on the establishment of the College and how it has evolved over the years, adding that even though the physical structures had not seen any significant changes, the contents of the studies had, especially with the introduction of the Master of Science degree programme.

The DA, in his turn, mentioned that the purpose of his visit was to announce his presence at GAFCSC as the Zambian DA not only to Ghana but to Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone, and Togo as well. He expressed his commitment to promoting a healthy and lasting relationship with GAFCSC and added that several Zambian students are products of GAFCSC and are excelling in their various appointments. He also expressed interest in the College’s academic journal and inquired how people could participate in it. Rear Admiral Beick-Baffour responded that advertisement had been made to the public via the College’s website and social media, calling for papers for the journal’s second edition and prescribing the tenets guiding the papers.

The Commandant later showed the DA around the College’s facilities to help the DA familiarise himself with the College setting.
