GAFCSC COMMANDANT PAYS COURTESY CALLS ON RCOA

Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) Major General (Maj Gen) Matthew Essien paid a courtesy call to the Retired Commissioned Officers Association (RCOA) on Thursday, 27 June 2024.

 

Maj Gen Essien outlined programs offered by the College and extended an official invitation to the RCOA to attend the maiden Republican Day Public Lecture on 1 July 2024.  He stated that the lecture, themed, "Reflections on Democratic Control over the Military and the Way Forward for Sustainability." will feature former Minister for National Security, Mr Francis Poku Esq as the Guest Speaker.

 

 

Maj Gen Essien announced the introduction of a PhD program in Defense and International Politics at the College and sought the Association's expertise and experience to enrich the program. He also highlighted the College's focus on modernizing its curriculum, including the introduction of Multi-Domain Operations, and emphasized the need for collaboration between the College and RCOA.

 

 

 

The President of RCOA, Brigadier General Samuel Yanyi-Akofur (Rtd), congratulated Maj Gen Essien on his appointment and praised the College's initiative to engage with the Association. He expressed enthusiasm for the PhD program and requested greater involvement in the College's exercises and supervision of Officers and Directing Staff.
