Term 1: Foundation
The foundation phase begins the habit of thinking on a tri-service and multinational basis. It establishes the baseline required for the single-service components and later joint studies phases.

Term 2: Single Service
Phase aim: to develop the professional knowledge required by the Army, Navy, and Air faculties so officers can contribute effectively to land, maritime, and air components of joint operations.
Phase endstate: officers should be able to plan and direct service-specific operations while contributing to the management of their service in peacetime.

Phase aim: to develop a flexible mindset through the study of joint, combined, multinational, and inter-agency operations, as well as defence management as a whole.
Phase endstate: officers should be able to analyse complex issues and work effectively with other services and nations in joint and combined environments.
