AFRICAN JOURNAL OF DEFENCE, SECURITY AND STRATEGY

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Office of the College Journal of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Sixth edition of the African Journal of Defence, Security and Strategy.

The aim of the Journal is to contribute to scholarly writing by filling existing voids identified in key thematic areas. The Journal is also aimed at generating and sustaining interest among stakeholders and affiliates of GAFCSC in professional/scholarly writing.

 

RESEARCH THEMES

The Journal covers the underlisted 3 key thematic areas where GAFCSC already has some comparative advantage and leverage:

1. Defence.

2. Security.

3. Strategy.

 

The sub-thematic areas are not exhaustive but include the following:

1. Border Security.

2. Internal Security.

3. Fault-lines of society impacting Defence and Security.

4. The Value Systems of entities, people, states with impacts on humanity.

5. Technology in the Security-Defence-Strategy conundrum.

6. Posturing and Competition (Industries, States, People)

7. Natural Resource Issues.

8. Emerging Crimes.

 

TYPES OF ARTICLES ACCEPTED

The following types of articles are accepted:

1. Original Research.

2. Reviews.

3. Letters to the Editor.

4. Notes from the Field.

As an academic Journal, all the work submitted must follow generic scientific writing rules and referencing should respect the current APA style.

 

LENGTH OF PAPERS

Articles should be between 6000 to 8000 words long, submitted in word format, using Times New Roman font style, 12pt font size, and double spaced. Articles must be preceded by abstracts and a list of 5 keywords.

 

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS FOR PAPERS

Proposals should address all of the stated themes and/or sub-themes, and should include the following:

 

1. Title of Proposed Paper.

2. Name(s) of Author(s).

3. Author(s)' Institutional Affiliation.

4. Author(s)' Email Address, Telephone.

5. Abstract of Proposed Papers (Not exceeding 300 Words).

 

Authors are encouraged to ensure that papers submitted are original. Accepted papers will undergo peer-review processes and are expected to be published in the College Journal both online and in print.
