GAFCSC HOLDS 10TH BI-ANNUAL PUBLIC LECTURE

In a bid to shed light on the complexities of African development within the rapidly evolving global context, students of the Senior Command and Staff Course 45 and the Master of Science in International Politics at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College were treated to a thought-provoking public lecture.

The event marked the 10th bi-annual lecture series hosted by the Academic Division of the College on Wednesday 20 March 2024. It aimed at providing different perspectives and resources which could be used as references in assignments and essays to support the ideas and theories of the students.

A Senior Advisor to the African Union Commissioner, Ambassador William Azumah Awinador-Kanyirige,  took center stage as the distinguished speaker for the occasion. With a theme centered on "Advancing African Development in a Fast-Changing Global Landscape: A Special Focus on the Sahel,"

The Ambassador  brought his wealth of experience and expertise to the forefront. Against the backdrop of geopolitical shifts and emerging challenges, Ambassador Awinador-Kanyirige underscored the critical importance of addressing the unique socio-economic and security dynamics facing the Sahel region.

Drawing from his extensive diplomatic career and deep understanding of African affairs, he articulated a comprehensive framework for sustainable development in the Sahel, emphasizing the need for multi-faceted approaches and regional cooperation.
