The Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Dr. Ernest Brogya Genfi, together with the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) William Agyapong, and the Service Chiefs of the Ghana Armed Forces, paid a working visit to the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) for a Control Board Meeting.
The meeting, held on Friday, 12 June 2026, at the GAFCSC Conference Room, sought to review the progress of the College, challenges and way forward. The gathering brought together members of the College leadership, representatives of various planning committees, and key stakeholders responsible for College's activities.
During the meeting, participants deliberated on GAFCSC's programmes, logistical arrangements, security considerations, public engagement strategies, and other key initiatives designed to ensure a successful professional military and Academic education. The Control Board also assessed the readiness of the various committees and provided strategic guidance to address outstanding issues.
The GAFCSC's 50th Anniversary celebrations was also discussed. The Anniversary is expected to bring together serving and retired military personnel, government officials, alumni, diplomatic representatives, and other distinguished guests to commemorate five decades of excellence, leadership, and service in professional military education.
