GAFCSC HOLDS JOINT MATRICULATION FOR STUDENTS OF WEEKEND MDIP, MSS AND PGDDSS
The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) held a joint matriculation ceremony for students of the Weekend Master of Science (MSc)in Defence and International Politics (MDIP), Master of Science (MSc) in Security Studies (MSS) and Postgraduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies (PGDDSS) Programmes at the Hamidu Hall in Teshie (Otu Barracks) on Friday, 13 March, 2026.
The ceremony saw 23 civilians students admitted to pursue the Weekend (Msc) in MDIP, 16 civilians students enrolled for the MSc in MSS and 66 Officers from the Ghana Armed forces (GAF) and 8 from Allied West African Countries enrolled for the PGDDSS.

In his remarks, the Commandant of GAFCSC, Major General (Maj Gen) Jackson Wonje welcomed the students on their academic journey towards obtaining Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma qualifications. He emphasized the College’s commitment to providing an environment that promotes intellectual growth, professional excellence and personal transformation.

Maj Gen J Wonje further assured the students about the College’s readiness to prepare them for leadership roles in their respective fields. He urged them to approach the programmes with purpose, discipline and steadfast dedication so they can effectively contribute to the security and stability of the nation and the international community.
In his matriculation address, the President for the National Defence University (NDU), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) (Dr) Felix Adom Asante, congratulated the students for choosing to understake the programmes and committing themselves to shaping the future of Defence,security and international relations in Ghana and beyond. He indicated that the courses are designed to equip participants with deeper understanding of the complexities of global politics, defence and security, as well as the intricate dynamics that govern today’s international system.

AVM Dr Adom Asante urged the students to embrace the opportunity with enthusiasm, discipline and commitment. He again encouraged them to fully engage in their studies, participate actively in discussions and challenge themselves to think beyond conventional boundaries in order to gain new perspectives and deeper insight.

The Register Mrs Stella Serwaa Afful presented the matriculants and led them in the administration of the matriculation oath . To commemorate the ceremony, the students along with the Academic faculty took a group photograph.
