GAFCSC HOLDS RELIGIOUS SERVICE AHEAD OF GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) as part of preparations for its upcoming Graduation Ceremony of the Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC 45) and the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics (MDIP) Class of 2024 has held a religious graduation service on Sunday, 18 August, 2024 at Hamidu Hall in Teshie,  Accra.

The service was centered on the theme "To whom much is given, much is expected" (Luke 12:48). The sermon delivered by the Guest Preacher, Colonel (Col) John Kwamina Otoo (Rtd), a member of the National Peace Council, was not only inspiring but also edifying, resonating deeply with the congregation's sense of duty and spiritual responsibility. Col Otoo in his exhortation emphasized the vital role of obedience and trust in responding to God's call.

He stressed that while God bestows responsibilities, it is through obedience that one can truly fulfill the divine mandate. He encouraged the students to introspect on their ability to meet the expectations of those who have entrusted them with positions of authority.

The former Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Maxwell Manstebi-Tei Nagai (Rtd), who was the Guest of Honour,  commended the students and staff of the College for their dedication, noting that the students had been thoroughly equipped with the knowledge required to excel both locally and internationally. He urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the College by exhibiting exemplary leadership and maintaining high standards in their future endeavours.

The former CAS charged all and sundry to develop exceptional communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of the military and global affairs. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the military and civil authorities, which he stated was crucial for effective governance and security.

Awards were presented to some outstanding students of the MDIP Class of 2024. Mr Nuhu Alhassan Dicko secured the second position for Overall Best Student while Ms Alhassan Rabiatu Abisola took third place, while Mr Yaw Duodo and Mr Michael Kaamo Ayaim were recognized for their exceptional dissertations.
