GAFCSC HONOURS CORPORATE SPONSORS AND COMMISSIONS RECONSTRUCTED MAIN GATE AND RENOVATED ANTE ROOM

As part of the Graduation Ceremony held for the Junior Staff Course 82, the Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Major General Matthew Essien honoured key sponsors and officially commissioned the reconstructed GAFCSC Main Gate and the renovated Ante Room of the Fletcher Mess on Friday, 20 December, 2024 at Teshie.

 

In his address, Maj Gen Essien highlighted the occasion as an opportunity to celebrate collective achievements and expressed his profound gratitude to superiors, sponsors, colleagues, and friends for their unwavering support. He commended their vision, dedication, and hard work, which have contributed immensely to the development of the College and the Ghana Armed Forces as a whole. Maj Gen Essien extended special appreciation to his superiors for their leadership, guidance, and strategic vision, which have transformed GAFCSC into a modern centre of excellence.

 

 

 

The Commandant recognized the contributions of the Chief of the Army Staff and former GAFCSC Commandant, Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, who initiated the reconstruction of the main gate and again expressed gratitude to Mr Kwasi Serebour of Paragon Homes Limited for financing the project. Additionally, he thanked Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Frederick Asare Bekoe, the Chief of the Air Staff, for financially supporting the renovation of the Fletcher Mess, alongside Mr Festus Mawuli Kluvitse for tiling, and Mr Jeffery Ofosuhene Appenteng for remodelling the bar and other sections of the Ante Room.

 

 

 

The Service Chiefs and Corporate Sponsors were presented with citations and customised plaques for their unwavering commitment and generosity towards the infrastructural development of the College. Honourees included the Chief of the Army Staff, Maj Gen Onwona, the Chief of the Air Staff and Air Vice Marshal Asare Bekoe, the Chief of the Air Staff. Others recipients included the following sponsors: Mr Kwasi Serebour of Paragon Homes Limited, Mr Festus Mawuli Kluvitse of Geocom Company Limited, Mr Jeffery Ofosuhene Appenteng of De Margo Interior Contractors, Mr Moses Kanduri of Ace Builders Hub, Mr Hussein Jaber of Inamar Company Limited, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Razak Issahaku of Raisba Limited and Mr Amadu Yahaya of Sun Electronics Limited.

 

 

 

Two members of the Editorial Board for the College Journal, African Journal of Defence, Security and Strategy, Colonel Festus Aboagye (Rtd) and Professor Gordon Senanu Kwame Adika were also honoured at the ceremony for their dedicated service in editing, proofreading and contributing articles to the Journal.

The event concluded with the commissioning of the Main Gate by Maj Gen Onwona and Mr Kwasi Serebour. The Ante Room of the Fletcher Mess was commissioned by AVM Asare Bekoe in collaboration with Mr Jeffery Ofosuhene Appenteng, Mr Festus Mawuli Kluvitse.
