The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has sent off the Deputy Commandant, Major General (Maj Gen) George Kwabena Tawiah Sam; Assistant Commandant for Senior Division (AsCom, Snr Div), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Bessa Kwao-Adotey; and Assistant Commandant for Junior Division (AsCom, Jnr Div), Brigadier General G Mark Alo, at a ceremony held on Monday, 24 August 2026, at the GAFCSC Fletcher Mess.

The ceremony, which brought together the Commandant, Senior Officers, Military and Academic Faculty members and Staff, aimed to honour the Generals for their dedicated service, commitment and contributions to the growth and development of the College as they continue their service in other departments in the Ghana Armed Forces.
The event provided an opportunity for the College to acknowledge the leadership, commitment, and professionalism demonstrated by the three Generals during their respective periods of service in the college.

In his remarks, the Commandant of GAFCSC, Major General (Maj Gen) Jackson Wonje, commended the Generals for their selfless service, discipline, and dedication to duty. He noted that their contributions had positively impacted the administration, academic activities and overall development of the College.
He particularly recognised their efforts in supporting the College's mandate of providing quality professional military education and training to officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and Allied Armed Forces.
The Commandant expressed appreciation for the collaborative spirit and leadership exhibited by the Generals, adding that their wealth of experience and institutional knowledge had contributed significantly to the achievement of the College's objectives.
He wished the departing officers success in their new assignments and urged them to continue upholding the values of professionalism, integrity, discipline and service wherever they found themselves.


As a token of appreciation from the College, the Commandant, Maj Gen Wonje, presented an 86-inch LG television, a medallion and a commemorative coin to the Deputy Commandant, Maj Gen Sam; the Assistant Commandant for Junior Division, Brig Gen Alo; and the Assistant Commandant for Senior Division, Brig Gen Kwao-Adotey. For Brig Gen Kwao-Adotey, the incoming Assistant Commandant, Brigadier General KK Afrifah, received the items on his behalf.
