COURTESY VISIT BY DELEGATION FROM CÔTE D’IVOIRE ÉCOLE D’ÉTAT-MAJOR TO GAFCSC
A two-member delegation from the Côte d’Ivoire Command and Staff College (École d’État-Major), led by the Deputy Chief of the College, Lieutenant Colonel Bani Jean, accompanied by the Assistant Chief in charge of the Training Department, paid a courtesy call on the Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Major General (Maj Gen) Jackson Wonje, at Teshie on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.
The purpose of the visit was to formally brief the Commandant on the College’s planned educational study tour to Ghana, scheduled to take place from Monday, 29 June to Friday, 3 July 2026. The delegation outlined their preparatory efforts and sought guidance on coordination arrangements ahead of the visit.

In his remarks, Maj Gen Wonje welcomed the delegation and commended the leadership of the École d’État-Major for the decision to engage GAFCSC as part of their study programme. He underscored the importance of early coordination and advised the delegation to formally communicate their detailed programme and proposed discussion themes to facilitate comprehensive preparation by the College.

Lieutenant Colonel Bani Jean expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to his team and articulated the objectives of the forthcoming study tour. He indicated that the tour would focus on the theme: “Terrorism in the Sahel and the strategies being implemented by the Armed Forces to secure national borders.” He noted that, the visit is intended to enhance professional exchange and deepen institutional cooperation between the two colleges.
As part of the engagement, the General Staff Officer Grade 1 (G1), Wing Commander Amadu Sulemana Timbilla, delivered a detailed briefing on the history, mission, vision, organisational structure and academic programmes of GAFCSC.

The visit concluded with the presentation of souvenirs by the Commandant to the delegation as a symbolic gesture of goodwill and enduring professional ties between the two institutions.
