GAFCSC CLOSES CCMC 1/2024

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has held a closing ceremony for its Conflict and Crisis Management Course (CCMC) 1/2024 academic year for the Senior Command and Staff Course 45 on Friday, 26 July 2024 at the Hamidu Hall, Teshie Ridge.

 

The two-week course aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of conflict and internal crisis management, enabling them to work more effectively, efficiently, and cohesively.

 

 

The Guest of Honour and Chairman of the National Peace Council, Reverend Doctor (Rev Dr) Ernest Adu-Gyamfi in his remarks thanked the GAFCSC Commandant, Major General Matthew Essien for supporting and contributing in diverse ways to the success of the course. He applauded the college for the innovative programs and the involvement of state agencies to study, deliberate, and seek ways to address national issues.

 

Rev Dr Ernest Adu-Gyamfi mentioned that the course was organized importantly to understand the various organizational roles and to expose personnel working in various security sectors to use principles and techniques for the management of conflict as well as crisis when the need arises adding that training in the management of conflict and crises is a critical requirement for every nation.

 

 

He commended the college for the initiative, effective collaboration, and engagement with other security stakeholders. It is exemplary for other academic institutions to develop and run practical programs such as conflict and crisis management and upgrade the skills of the Ghanaian workforce in addressing current or future conflict crises.

 

 

The Guest of Honour urged all participants to serve as trainers in their various organizations to enable people to benefit from the knowledge acquired. He implored them to make a difference, and impact conflict and crisis management issues.

He encouraged participants to exchange information regularly and establish links that would improve collaboration between their Agencies for healthier management of future conflict and crisis.
