GAFCSC HOLDS OPENING CEREMONY FOR COMMENCEMENT OF CCMC

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has held an opening ceremony for the commencement of the Conflict and Crisis Management Course (CCMC) 2026 at Ankrah Hall, GAFCSC, Teshie, on Tuesday, 30 June 2026. The two-week course, scheduled from 29 June to 10 July 2026 at Otu Barracks, Teshie, is aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills in conflict prevention, crisis response, and inter-agency coordination to enhance national resilience and security management. Participants are drawn from the Ghana Armed Forces, sister security services, ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as selected media organisations across the country.

The Guest of Honour for the occasion, Commissioner of Police (COP) Osman Abdul Razak, National Security Coordinator, expressed appreciation to the Commandant and staff of GAFCSC, as well as the Military High Command, for the invitation and commended the College for its sustained commitment to strengthening national capacity in conflict and crisis management through professional training and inter-agency collaboration.

He noted that conflicts, crises, and disasters, whether man-made or natural, remain an inevitable part of human existence and continue to pose significant threats to lives, property, and national development. He cited global and local situations, including conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, and Iran, as well as the Bawku conflict and recurrent flooding in parts of Accra and other regions of Ghana, as clear reminders of the need for proactive and coordinated crisis management mechanisms.

COP Abdul Razak further emphasised that effective crisis management depends on strong cooperation among security agencies, ministries, departments, and other stakeholders. He encouraged participants to actively engage resource persons, share their professional experiences, and fully participate in all sessions of the course in order to enhance inter-agency collaboration, strengthen national preparedness, and contribute meaningfully to building a more resilient and secure nation.
