A three-member delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), led by the Chief Instructor Joint Studies, Colonel (Col) William Ackah has participated in a media engagement on Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, as part of activities marking the College's 50th Anniversary celebrations. The delegation, which included the Chief Instructor Air Faculty Group Captain(Grp Capt) Kwame Alifo and the Registrar of the College, Mrs Stella Serwaa Afful, engaged the public on the significance of the Golden Jubilee and the contributions of the College to professional military education and leadership development in Ghana and across Africa.
The engagement formed part of ongoing public sensitisation and awareness creation efforts aimed at increasing public participation and support for the celebrations.
Col Ackah outlined the theme for the anniversary celebrations, "Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in Professional Military Education," and highlighted some of the activities lined up to commemorate the milestone. He mentioned that over the past five decades, the College has produced highly skilled military leaders and strategic thinkers who continue to serve with distinction both within Ghana and internationally. He further explained that one of the College's greatest strengths lies in its promotion of interoperability among the three arms of the Ghana Armed Forces, namely the Army, Navy and Air Force, through joint training and integrated learning, thereby preparing officers to operate effectively in joint, combined and multinational environments.

On his part, the Chief Instructor Air Faculty highlighted the significant contributions of the Air Faculty towards the development of air-minded military leaders and the evolution of air power studies within the College over the years. He noted that the faculty has continuously adapted its training and instructional methods to reflect emerging technologies, contemporary security threats and the changing character of warfare, thereby ensuring that officers remain prepared to meet modern operational demands in both national and international settings.

The Registrar of the College, Mrs Stella Serwaa Afful, shed light on the academic curriculum and programmes offered by the institution. She explained that the College currently offers the Junior Staff Course, Senior Command and Staff Course, Master's programmes in Defence and International Politics, Defence Management and Strategic Studies, as well as Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Defence and Security Studies in collaboration with partner academic institutions. She emphasised that these programmes are not limited to military personnel but are also open to qualified civilians seeking to enhance their knowledge and expertise in defence, security and strategic studies. Mrs Afful therefore encouraged eligible civilians to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the College to enhance their professional competence and academic qualifications. She further urged the public and stakeholders to support and participate in the activities lined up for the Golden Jubilee celebrations as the College marks fifty years of excellence in professional military education.
