The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC) 47 has climaxed its Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices (CT/ CIED) Course on Friday, 22 May 2026, at the Hamidu Hall, Teshie.
The week-long programme was designed to equip participants with the requisite knowledge and practical skills to effectively respond to evolving terrorist threats and improvised explosive device incidents through intelligence-led, coordinated, and multi-agency approaches as part of efforts to strengthen national and regional security preparedness.

The Guest of Honour for the occasion Major General(Maj Gen) SWK Parbey in his address described terrorism as one of the most pressing and evolving global security threats, noting that its asymmetric nature continues to undermine regional and international peace and stability. He explained that the course provided a comprehensive blend of academic instruction, operational case studies, regional context analysis, and practical simulation exercises aimed at enhancing participants' understanding of modern counter-terrorism operations. He further highlighted that key topics such as intelligence-led counter-terrorism operations, legal frameworks, and best practices in Counter-IED responses significantly broadened participants' professional competence.

The Guest of Honour also emphasized Exercise TSUI BLEOO as a key highlight of the training, explaining that it offered participants a realistic scenario where they operated as a Multi-Agency Response Cell to manage a simulated terrorist incident. He noted that the exercise reinforced the importance of joint planning, rapid decision-making, and inter-agency cooperation in effective crisis response. He commended participants for their commitment and active engagement throughout the course. He further expressed appreciation to resource persons and facilitators for their invaluable contributions. The ceremony ended with the presentation of certificates to participants, including the three external participants, and the formal declaration of the course officially closed.
